The Personal Treasures of Bernard and Shirley Kinsey
was a diverse exhibition of paintings, sculptures, prints, books and photographs of African American intellectual, historic and artistic ephemera.

It presented a thematic narrative linking the Transatlantic Slave Trade, American
Slavery, Civil War and Reconstruction, Landscapes, The Harlem Renaissance, The Next Generation, and Postmodernism, reinforcing the Kinsey’s collecting philosophy “to document what is historically important, culturally relevant and aesthetically valued.”
